Maine 2012 - Visiting Day Magic

For those who know what it's like to send your kids off to sleepaway camp for the summer, you will agree that "visting day" is almost without question, the greatest day of the year. Running down the path to your kids' bunk feels like a scene from "Chariots of Fire" where you are running in slow motion as the kids with beaming smiles run into your arms. The embrace is almost too much to take, and thus begins the magic of visiting day. They want to show you everything they are doing and you want to soak it all in and never stop hugging them. Now picture all of this against the backdrop of magestic Maine. Each year we stop in a different charming town, and this year it was Ogunquit. Then we stay in in Belgrade Lakes where the water is pristine and the sun sets behind the mountains like an old time movie. We relish the day as if it was our last. Long live Visiting Day!
